Timbre is the unique sound that an instrument makes. Our ear easily recognizes the difference between a triangle and a tuba because of their timbre. After learning a poem about silly breakfast, lunch and dinner foods, students experimented with instruments that make a crunchy sound. The girls played unpitched percussion instruments from the shaker and scraper families.
